
David Price
David W Price, MD is Senior Advisor to the President, American Board of Family
Medicine; Professor, Family Medicine, University of Colorado Anschutz School of
Medicine; and a coach and consultant in Continuing Professional Development and
Quality Improvement. Dr. Price spent 29 years with Kaiser Permanente in the United
States in local and national roles, including Director of Medical Education; health services researcher; and Chair of Family Medicine. From 2014-2019 was Senior Vice-President, American Board of Medical Specialties Research and Education Foundation and Executive Director of the Multi-Specialty (Quality Improvement) Portfolio Program.
Dr. Price is a past ABFM director and board chair, past Director of the ACCME, and past
chair of the Association of American Medical Colleges Group on Educational Affairs
section on Continuing Education and Improvement. He has over 100 peer reviewed
publications and has spoken in the US and internationally in areas including CME/CPD,
QI and implementation science. He serves on the Executive Editorial Board of the
Journal of Continuing Education in the Health Professions.
Dr. Price received his M.D. from Rutgers Medical School in 1985 and completed his
Family Medicine and chief residency at JFK Medical Center, Edison, NJ, in 1988. He is
Board Certified/Maintaining Certification with the ABFM, a fellow of the American
Academy of Family Physicians and the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health
Professions. He is also a fellow of the Society for Academic Continuing Medical
Education (SACME) and received the 2018 SACME Distinguished Service in CME
Award.
